A team from Kitale National Polytechnic paid a courtesy call to the Recognition of Prior Learning
(RPL) Delivery Unit Office at Kabete National Polytechnic. Discussions focused on effective
implementation of RPL in Kitale National Polytechnic. Among the issues considered were publicity
and awareness, mapping and twinning of Kitale National Polytechnic with affordable housing
programme to facilitate on-site assessment, and quality assurance of the RPL process. The
delegation further informed the delivery unit that with the help of CiCAN, the Kitale N.P. are in the
process of assessing and certifying 400 refugees and migrants from the Kakuma Refugee Camp. The
Director advised the team to ensure that during the assessment exercise they invite the State
Department for TVET and Sector Regulator to monitor and evaluate the
Kiambu National Polytechnic
(formerly KIST) students during the
Grand Finale of the 3rd Open Day. It
was an incredible three days of
innovation, skills competitions, and
industry collaborations. The event
was attended by students, industry
partners and sponsors.
